About the Property: BenTen Residences is two restored Meiji-era provate machiya in Higashiyama, Kyoto, each entirely yours for the length of your stay. BenTen West is 70 m² and sleeps five in three bedrooms, with a garden-view bath and shower, a separate shower room and two toilets. BenTen East is 80 m² and sleeps six in the same three-bedroom layout, with two semi-double beds (196 cm × 120 cm) in the master bedroom and futon bedding in the two Japanese rooms.
Services: Your house manager meets you in person at the house for check-in and check-out, in the Japanese tradition of welcoming guests at the door. A bilingual eConcierge is on hand before and during your stay to book restaurants, arrange cars and recommend cultural experiences. Housekeeping visits every other day throughout your stay.
Amenities: Each house has heated flooring, air-conditioning, a washing machine and tumble dryer, a study corner, free WiFi and TVs in the master bedroom and living room. On request, the team arranges a cot, a high chair, luggage storage and free parking nearby.
Gion-Higashiyama Neighbourhood: The houses sit on a quiet lane, one corner from the crowds. From the door, Ishibe-koji, Kodai-ji, the Yasaka Pagoda and Yasaka Shrine are a short walk, and Kiyomizu-dera is about 15 minutes on foot. The nearest bus stop is under 100 m away, and Keihan Gion-Shijo Station is a short walk west through Gion.
